We do not collect or process any sensitive personal data about you (such as information regarding your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, health, sex life, or sexual orientation).

If we obtain your personal data from a third party, we will provide you with all relevant information regarding the processing as soon as possible, and in any case no later than one month from obtaining your data – including information on the categories of personal data processed, the purpose of the processing, and the legal basis.

  1. How do we use your personal data and what is the legal basis for processing it?

Your personal data is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR), as well as the national legislation implementing the GDPR provisions.

  1. How and to whom do we disclose your personal data?

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Personal data may be disclosed to governmental authorities and/or law enforcement agencies if required by applicable law or if such disclosure is necessary to exercise our legal rights (including enforcing our terms of use) or to protect our legitimate interests (including those of third parties), in accordance with applicable laws.

We may also disclose personal data to external advisors (e.g., lawyers, accountants, auditors), where necessary.

  1. Storage of your personal data and international transfers

Your personal data that we collect is stored within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). However, data collected by third parties through cookies (e.g., via Google DoubleClick for Publishers) is typically routed through the data center geographically closest to the user, meaning such information – including advertising traffic – may be handled by servers located both within and outside the EEA.

In addition, your personal data may be transferred to and stored in a location outside the EU and EEA. When your data is transferred from your country to another, the laws and rules protecting your personal data in the destination country may differ from (or offer less protection than) those in the country where you reside or work.

We do not intend to transfer your personal data outside the EEA unless adequate safeguards are in place, such as:

  • an adequacy decision by the European Commission regarding the destination country;
  • Privacy Shield certification (where applicable);
  • appropriate binding corporate rules;
  • an approved code of conduct together with binding and enforceable commitments from the controller or processor in the third country;
  • an approved certification mechanism together with binding and enforceable commitments from the controller or processor in the third country to apply appropriate safeguards;
  • or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
  1. Your Rights

You have the right to request confirmation from us as to whether or not your personal data is being processed, to receive a copy of your personal data, and/or to request its correction. In certain circumstances, you also have the right to request the deletion of your personal data or, under the right to data portability, to request the transfer of some of your personal data to you or to other entities.

You also have the right to object to certain processing activities (e.g., for direct marketing purposes or decisions made solely through automated processing, including profiling). If we have asked for your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without negative consequences to you.

Where we process your personal data based on our legitimate interests (as previously explained), you also have the right to object to this processing. Furthermore, you may have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

Please note that your rights as described above may be limited in certain situations and are subject to applicable data protection laws and regulations. For example, your right to object to the processing of your personal data may be limited if we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests.

As a data subject, you have specific legal rights regarding the personal data we collect from you. The company will respect your individual rights and will address your concerns appropriately:

  • Right to be informed: You have the right to be informed, among others, about what data is being processed, why, for what purposes, to whom it is disclosed, and what rights you have in this respect.
  • Right to withdraw consent: You can withdraw your consent for the processing of personal data at any time.
  • Right to rectification: You may request the rectification of your personal data. We make reasonable efforts to keep personal data that is continuously used and under our possession or control accurate, complete, up-to-date, and relevant, based on the most recent information available to us.
  • Right to restriction of processing: You may request restriction of the processing of your personal data if:
  • you contest the accuracy of the personal data, for the period during which we must verify its accuracy;
  • the processing is unlawful, and you request restriction instead of deletion;
  • we no longer need the data, but you request it for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims;
  • you have objected to the processing, pending verification of whether our legitimate grounds override yours.
  • Right of access: You may request information about the personal data we hold about you, including what categories of personal data we possess or control, how it is used, the source (if not collected directly from you), and to whom it has been disclosed, if applicable. You may receive a free copy of your personal data held by us.
  • Right to data portability: At your request, we can transfer your personal data to another controller, where technically feasible, provided that the processing is based on your consent or is necessary for the performance of a contract. Rather than receiving a copy of your data, you can request the direct transfer to another controller you specify.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): You may request the deletion of your personal data if:
  • your data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or otherwise processed;
  • you object to the further processing and your objection is justified;
  • your data has been unlawfully processed;

            Unless processing is necessary:

  • to comply with a legal obligation;
  • especially for legal data retention requirements;
  • or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
  • Right to object: You may object — at any time — to the processing of your personal data due to your particular situation, provided that the processing is not based on your consent but on our legitimate interests or those of a third party. In such cases, we will stop processing your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. If you object to processing, please specify whether you are requesting deletion or restriction of your personal data.
  • Right not to be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling: You have the right to intervene in significant decisions that concern you, including the right to withdraw your consent.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: If you believe that your rights under data protection laws have been violated, you may file a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) or with the relevant supervisory authority in the EU Member State where you reside, work, or where the alleged infringement occurred.

You will need to prove your identity and provide additional details to help us respond to your request. We will not charge a fee for responding to your request unless permitted by law; if a fee is charged, it will be reasonable and proportionate to your request.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at: reservations@romantic-venice.com . We hope to be able to respond to all your questions regarding how we process your personal data.

However, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority. You may file the complaint in the Member State where you live, work, or where the alleged violation of data protection law occurred.
